There had been a growing realization of the need of a women institution to quench particularly the educational thirst of the women-folk of Pundri and the surrounding rural area, as their parents would not, due to social taboos, send their daughters in most of the cases to co-educational institutions for pursuit of higher studies. This dream was ultimately realized way back in 1984 when indefatigable efforts by late Ch. Ishwar Singh Ji, a pioneer in the field of rural education, coupled with the all-out cooperation of the local residents fructified into a promising institution KANYA MAHAVIDYALAYA, Fatehpur-Pundri, Later named as Ch. Ishwar Singh Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Fatehpur-Pundri.

| Great souls born very rare. Such one soul, Ch. Ishwar Singh was born on 5th Nov. 1926 at Sataundi village of Karnal, Distt in Haryan in a middle Class peasant family. At that time no one could guess that this child will touch the heights. Strating his first career as teacher he remained worked for social cause. Afterwords, he entered in politics. Being learned selfless worker and enthusiastic he enjoyed the success being for times M.L.A. that’s why to honour his greatness the name of institution is after him |

| The motto of the institution is NAASTI VIDYA SAMAM CHAKSHU which literally means that there are no eyes (to take insight into the aims of life) equal to education. In Indian traditions ignorance is considered to be a curse which degrades the individual to the sub- human level. A man without knowledge wanders aimlessly. He cannot understand the purpose of his existence on this planet nor can he ever know what he really is. The motto has been very aptly adopted to substantiate that for the opening of eternal eyes it is necessary to in corporate the light of the knowledge through education. Education gives an insight to lofty human values and generates a sense of discrimination between right & wrong, true & false, and good & evil. An educated person becomes enlighten to take plausible decision(s) and thereby determine the right course of his/her life. |

The college is imparting education to the B.Ed. students at the undergraduate level. It is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and duly approved by ‘National Council of Teacher Education’ (NCTE) New Delhi. The college was started in November 1994. Since its inception, every successive year has witnessed it grow from size to size and take rapid strides in every sphere so much so that we are at present not only catering to the needs of Fatehpur-Pundri but also to that of thirty surrounding villages.
